USR Month

The University Social Responsibility Network (USRN) has identified the month of October as the “USR Month”. USRN member universities around the world will demonstrate and highlight their commitment to social responsibility by showcasing their social responsibility activities during this month.

Through the USR Month campaign, universities affiliated to the USRN will be able to learn from each other’s USR initiatives as well as to motivate other universities outside the USRN to strengthen their USR initiatives. Ultimately, it is hoped that there will be increased awareness of USR, propelling a USR movement in the global higher education sector.

2018 USR Month – Yonsei University

As part of the USR Month activities, the Volunteer Forum (V-Forum) co-hosted by the Institute for Global Engagement & Empowerment (IGEE) and the Yonsei University Association of Volunteer Clubs (YAVC) was held at Yonsei University Seoul Campus on 26 Oct. More than 150 students convened at the V-Forum to share their passion and idea on social engagement.

The main purpose of the V-Forum was to create a platform to share experience and knowledge of professional volunteer service and explore solutions to technical and legal issues related to volunteerism.

During the event, students from YAVC introduced their club activities and social responsibility campaigns that linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) adopted by the United Nations. V-Forum presentation and discussion competition were also organized for the students to share and discuss their views on social responsibility and their roles as a university student.

The V-Forum is the first social responsibility event initiated by students voluntarily at Yonsei University.
